The Community Sport Hero Awards is a partnered event between PacificSport Okanagan and the City of Kelowna for over twenty years! The event honours local athletes, sport leaders, and major events which demonstrate: innovation, excellence, and leadership within their sport(s). There is a long legacy of recipients who showcase the incredible talents we have right here in the Okanagan.
Community Sport Heroes are nominated through a call for nomination each year.

Community Sport Hero Award Ceremony 2026

Event Description:
Please join us before the awards ceremony to enjoy some light canapés and take time to reconnect with members of the sport community.
Along with honouring local sport heroes, the 2026 Community Sport Hero Awards Ceremony will take some time to recognize the athletes who are attending the 2026 BC Winter Games, and local Olympians.
This evening is a free community celebration, featuring highlight videos for our honourees and what sets them apart as our Sport Hero Selections for 2026.
